Barbed hosetails feature a BSP thread on one end and a barbed hosetail on the other. These hosetails are designed to have matching sizes. For example if you have a 2” BSP thread, you will find a corresponding 2” hosetail. The measurement is the outside diameter of the barb. We provide these as either a male or female BSP option depending on the application you are connecting the product to.
The Metal Company have developed butt weld hosetails which allow for a barbed connection to be butt welded to tube. We also stock hose joiners, which are barbed on both ends. This enables you to use them as repair kits for damaged hoses. Simply cut out the damaged section and join the remaining parts with one of our hose joiners. We stock barbed hosetails from 3/8” right up to 4”.
For hygienic applications, many of our customers opt to use swaged hosetails. Swaged hosetails are made of stainless steel dairy tube with a swage around the outside. The swage is pressed into the tube, creating a concave shape on the inside and a convex shape on the outside. This single swage tail is typically welded to a stainless steel surface or another fitting. The hose is attached from one end, and the hosetail is clamped around the hose, ensuring it cannot pull back past the swage. Swaged hosetails are primarily used for hygienic or sanitary applications, as well as lay flat or wash down hoses.
In our swaged hosetail range, we can offer pre-fabricated options with a variety of our fittings. This allows you to purchase hosetails from us and have them crimped by a professional hose doctor or you can do it yourself using a simple bandit strap or heavy-duty hose clamp. We also stock pre-fabricated fittings with a RJT weld liner and also have an RJT male option too. We also stock hosetails to suit tri clover connections.
We stock swaged hosetails from sizes ¾” right up to 6”
