These hoses are 100% stainless. The internal convoluted tube is 316L and the external braid is 304.
FlexiFlow stainless steel flexible hoses are used in many different industries and are most commonly used to transfer liquids, remove vibrations, attach equipment in difficult areas or to compensate for misalignment.
When pressurised above a certain level, unbraided corrugated hoses tend to elongate and expand. To prevent this, the flexible stainless steel wire braid covers the hose and connects to the fittings on both sides providing a restraint for the hose under internal pressure. This strengthens the hose by many folds.
The inner corrugated stainless-steel hoses are made from rolled strips and are welded at the seam. Impressed into this tube is a corrugated annular profile which helps each convolution to be perpendicular to the centre line of the hose. This allows for movement where each corrugation is independent from the other. Being annular does not produce torsion loads with increased pressure or pressure shocks and are preferred over helical.
If we compare this to rigid or rubber hoses, flexible stainless steel corrugated hoses are lightweight and have a tighter bend radius allowing for ease of routing in confined spaces. Other advantages include a higher internal pressure capability, long life span, vibration reduction, full vacuum and resistant to abrasion.
