Round bars are utilised across all trades, including engineering, construction and automotive. We stock round bars to suit metric sizing from 6mm to 25mm, and imperial sizing from 1 ¼” to 2”. They are measured according to the external diameter. It’s important to note that our round bars aren’t centerless ground. All our round bars are supplied in 4m lengths.
Stainless Steel Square Bar is widely used in many industries for general assembly or manufacturing. Common applications include ornamental work, drive bars and more. We stock Stainless Steel square bars in sizes from 6x6mm to 40x40mm. It is measured according to the outside diameter and supplied in 4 metre lengths.
Round Bar and Square Bar are manufactured with a process called ‘CD’ which stands for Cold Drawn, which is when a piece of stainless steel is formed to its finished shape by being drawn through a die at room temperature.
Flat bar is a type of steel product that is characterised by its shape. It is flat, meaning that it is parallel on both sides and has a rectangular cross-section. Flat Bar is widely used in many industries for general assembly or manufacturing. Common applications are gussets, framing, supports and brackets. We stock stainless steel flat bars in varying thicknesses and sizes, from 20x3mm to 150x10mm.
Flat bars are manufactured with a process called ‘SRE’ which stands for Slit Rolled Edge and is cut on a guillotine from stainless steel coils. Some of the sizes of flat bar we stock are manufactured with a process called ‘HRAP’ which stands for Hot Rolled Annealed Pickled. This is when the stainless is heated to around 1100°C and then formed to the desired shape. It’s then annealed which hardens the stainless and finally pickled which removes oxide scale and heat tints. Stainless steel angles and channels are also manufactured using this method.
A stainless steel angle is a length of stainless steel that has been formed into a 90 degree angle. Angles are used for various purposes in several industries. Framing is one of the most common uses, along with brackets, reinforcements, and more. The larger the angle, the more weight and stress it can bear. It is typically used in order to support structures or components. We stock stainless steel angle from 20x20x3mm to 100x100x10mm and it is available in 6 metre lengths.
A stainless steel channel is a U-shaped or V-shaped metal profile with a channel running down the centre. Channels are used for structural support, architectural trim, and other applications where a strong, durable, yet narrow, metal profile is needed. We stock 3 sizes of stainless steel channel – 80x40x5, 100x50x6 and 150x75x6 in 6 metre lengths.
We can cut our stainless steel lengths to the metre so you don’t need to purchase full lengths.
